Non NHS Fees

The practice charges for some services, such as insurance reports, HGV medicals or the like which are not provided under the National Health Service.

Some immunisations for foreign travel purposes, including anti-malarial preparations, are not available on the NHS.

Please contact the surgery for more information, an up to date price list is displayed in reception.

Why do we charge fees?

It is important to understand that many GP’s are not employed by the NHS.

They are self-employed and they have to cover their costs – staff, buildings, heating, lighting, etc. – in the same way as any small business. The NHS covers these costs for NHS work, but for non-NHS work, the fees charged by GP’s contribute towards their costs

Why does it sometimes take my GP a long time to complete my form?

Time spent completing forms and preparing reports takes the GP away from the medical care of their patients. Most GP’s have a very heavy workload and paperwork takes up an increasing amount of their time. Please be advised that private forms can take up to 3 weeks to complete.
