The Child Health Clinic is for well babies to enable us to provide an opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle from birth. Issues associated with parenthood can be addressed and advice given as appropriate. Follow up home visits are offered whenever necessary.
The Health Visitor and Nursery Nurse work together and carry out growth assessment and development checks. Issues such as breast feeding, weaning, eating, toileting, sleeping and parenting skills can be discussed.
Parents are invited to bring their children to the clinic as and when they feel appropriate. All developmental assessments will be by appointment.
Parents are asked not to bring ill children to the clinic but to make a separate appointment.
Our Practice Nurses are now responsible for giving all childhood immunisations. Appointments will be sent out to you at the appropriate stage within the immunisation programme.
