All patients aged 50+ are eligible for a free flu vaccine this year. We shall start by offering our first appointments to those over 65 years of age and those with underlying conditions, before opening up to all over 50 years of age. We shall hold several clinics, starting on 14th September, these shall be in either Humshaugh or Wark VILLAGE HALL. If you wish to have a flu vaccine this year please book an appointment IDEALLY online. Please ensure you book into the correct clinic for your age group and clinical category and make note of the location(Humshaugh OR Wark Village Hall) and the queue (A,B or C)
Alternatively you can book by phoning us on 01434 681281 (please only phone to book after 10am).

Prior to attending please read the information below regarding our mass flu vaccination clinics.

We shall telephone and/or write to children in at-risk groups once we know when the nasal vaccine is available to order and offer an appointment, please do not book these online.

Please note the following points about how these clinics will operate.
• Please check our website prior to setting off. Any last-minute changes or updates will be posted on here.
• Only patients with a booked flu vaccination appointment should attend. Vaccination is by appointment only.
• Do not attend if you or a household member have any COVID symptoms or have been asked to self-isolate
• Please wear a face covering unless you are exempt
• Please arrive at your appointment time – not early or late.
• Enter the village hall, use the hand gel provided and join your assigned queue (this shall be given to you on booking). Please keep the doorway and entrance porch to the hall free.
• Please observe the one way system and social-distancing signage in place.
• If you have a similar appointment time to your spouse/partner you can stay together and be vaccinated at the same time.
• Please dress appropriately for your vaccination and get ready while in the queue, removing layers- you will need to bare your upper arm for vaccination.
• You will be called forward to a vaccination station to receive your vaccination.
• There is no need to wait in the hall after your vaccination, please exit promptly.
• Staff will direct you to ensure social distancing on exit from the building.
All staff will be wearing appropriate PPE and we will be closely following the guidelines provided by NHS England.
Unlike coming into surgery where you are seen behind a closed door, you will be vaccinated standing up at by a table in a hall, this will take a few minutes. If you are not comfortable with this set up you may want to consider an alternative appointment. If you have a history of fainting when being vaccinated or you know you can’t stand in a queue please speak to reception and we can consider an alternative appointment.
Our team will be working hard all day to deliver a safe and speedy vaccination clinic with minimal queuing, this has worked efficiently for our previous clinics and we appreciate your patience if there are any unforeseen hold-ups on the day.
