Welcome to the latest edition of our surgery newsletter. Here you will find updates on services, clinics, health advice, and important information from the practice team.

We hope you are all keeping well. In this edition, we share updates on winter vaccinations, appointment availability, and advice on accessing the right service for your healthcare needs.

Practice Updates

What's New?

·         We are delighted to welcome Dr Lucy Brain to our GP team. Dr Brain will be providing cover for Dr Middleton until March 2027 and will be working primarily on Tuesdays.

·         There has been a change to this year's Autumn Vaccination Programme. GP practices are now able to provide both COVID-19 and flu vaccinations directly to their own eligible patients, allowing us to offer these vaccinations here at the surgery.

Stay Well This Autumn

As the weather becomes cooler and the days get shorter, it's important to take extra care of your health and wellbeing. Here are some simple ways to stay well this autumn:

🍂 Book Your Flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations
If you are eligible, make sure you receive your flu and COVID-19 vaccinations to help protect yourself and those around you.

🍂 Keep Active
Regular physical activity can boost your mood, improve your fitness, and help strengthen your immune system. Aim for at least 30 minutes of activity most days.

🍂 Eat a Healthy, Balanced Diet
Include plenty of fruit, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein to help support your immune system.

🍂 Look After Your Mental Wellbeing
Shorter days can affect mood. Stay connected with family and friends, get outside in daylight when possible, and seek support if you're struggling.

🍂 Manage Long-Term Conditions
Make sure you attend any routine reviews, take prescribed medications as directed, and contact the surgery if your symptoms change.

🍂 Be Prepared for Minor Illnesses
Keep a well-stocked medicine cabinet with essentials such as paracetamol, cold remedies, tissues, and a thermometer.

🍂 Wash Your Hands Regularly
Good hand hygiene helps reduce the spread of common infections such as colds, flu, and stomach bugs.

🍂 Order Repeat Prescriptions Early
As demand for healthcare services can increase during autumn and winter, please ensure you request repeat medications in plenty of time.
